Oakville Deaths DUNBAR-SMUCK, Mary Ethyl CONSTANCE Associate, Sisters of the Church CSC. Employee of the Federal Civil Service for 24 years. (DND. DPW) Crossed over on Saturday August 2, 2003, to join her husband HOWARD, after a long and courageous battle against cancer and bone marrow disease, which she handled with grace and dignity. In her long lile Constance was no stranger to adversity, which she endured and overcame time after time. During the years of WW11 Connie supported the war effort in many ways on the home front, including donating blood regularly lor the duration, and afterwards well into the 1970`s. She participated in the St. John Ambulance Brigade for many years and was appointed Divisional Superintendent of the Burlington Nursing Division No. 354, in 1960. Connie was very active in her church, acting as Children's Choir Master and organist for a number of years as well as being on the Alter Guild. She was especially active as an asso ciate of the Sisters of the Church CSC, which brought her much joy and satisfaction. Constance leaves behind her loved sons Malcolm, and Ian, and her daughter-in-love Mary as well as her beloved grandsons Christopher, and Matthew. She w ill also be missed by her sisters Belle and Daphne, and many other family members and friends. The family of Constance Smuck wish to thank Dr. Moens of the Hamilton Cancer Clinic for the eight healthy years of life he previously gave Connie, and his efforts to save her life these last few months. The family would also like to thank Dr. Van Straalen, and most especially a heartfelt thank you to the caring staff of Ward 4E. O.T.M.H., who look such excellent care of Connie during her long stay in the hospital. A private memorial service for family and friends will be held on Tuesday.
