That after a recently-opened Oakville veterinarian clinic was broken into this week for the second time this year. Halton police said an unknown number of thieves broke into the Lakeshore Animal Hospital, on Lakeshore Road west of Kerr Street, between 4 p.m. Wednesday and 1:35 a.m. Thursday. The report was received by the Town's Administrative Services Committee at its meeting Tuesday and shows almost $843,616 in salaries and bene ts were paid to council members last year. Oakville's mayor earned $147,693 last year, including $115,715 in salary, a $9,000 vehicle allowance and the remaining $22,979 given for bene ts. Council voted last June to bump up Burton's salary by approximately 2.6 per cent for 2015 to $119,698, which according to a staff report at the time, lags behind the salaries of mayors in similarly-populated municipalities. Town of Oakville councillors' pay remains the same this year at $47,896.
