He comes to school each day with an enthusiasm for learning, demonstrated through collaboration with his peers, his inquisitive approach to learning, and his positive attitude toward learning in all subject areas. Shan is actively involved in many aspects of student life including choir, Eco Club and Mathematics. Through his strong leadership, sportsmanship and school involvement, Shan is a wonderful role model for his peers. · Wubaidatu Awudu, Grade 5, Oakwood: Wubaidatu works extremely hard to achieve her personal academic goals and models positive learning habits in all of her classes. She pays close attention to feedback given during teacher-student conferences and shows initiative by applying the feedback. She participates readily in sports activities, demonstrating stellar sportsmanship and encouraging her teammates with kind words. She participates actively as part of the EcoTeam and as a Kindergarten Helper. She was one of the emcees at our Remembrance Day Assembly and again at our Holiday Concert. She contributes to a positive and inclusive school environment by consistently modelling our REACH principles of responsibility, empathy, achievement, cooperation and helping hands in daily interactions with both peers and adults. · Yamini Belmonn, Grade 8, Palermo: Yamini has been highly involved in her school community, participating in a variety clubs and teams including Me to We, Robotics, Band, Basketball, Student Government, and Chess Club. Yamini actively seeks leadership opportunities in and out of the classroom and is a student that teachers go to for leadership tasks. She has supported the community of Oakville with her volunteer work through her Air Cadet Squadron. Yamini is a student that others look up to and she always set a positive example for peers. · Fatema Saleh, Grade 8, Pilgrim Wood: Fatema demonstrates excellence in all of her academic subjects. She always has a positive attitude and always works hard. Fatema is very involved in all aspects of school life. She is an enthusiastic member of our Badminton Team. Jenna strives for excellence in everything she does and it is reflected in her academic and learning skills achievement. Jenna has maintained an active role in the River Oaks Community. She continues to participate in athletics as a member of the intermediate girls basketball team, and demonstrates her dynamic leadership skills on the court. Jenna has also led many initiatives in our school, from WE day to food drives. All of the students in the class of 2015 look up to, and respect Jenna, for her unique skills as a leader, student and friend. · Ana Hogiu, Grade 5, Sheridan: Ana is a kind student who volunteers for recycling, morning announcements, pizza delivery, and many extra curricular activities. In class she works cooperatively with others, is compassionate and always works hard to do her best. · Ariya Shiwram, Grade 8, Sunningdale: Ariya is a conscientious, hard-working individual who excels in every aspect of student life. She faces new challenges with a positive attitude, while demonstrating focus and perseverance. Ariya excels in all academics, and strives to maintain her high level of achievement by accepting and applying feedback from her peers and teachers. She gives back to the learning community by actively encouraging and helping her peers and Sunningdale students alike. Ariya demonstrates outstanding leadership both in and outside of the school community by getting involved in social justice activities and events, helping younger children develop their Martial Arts skills, attaining a junior black belt in Taekwondo, and representing Sunningdale on many athletic teams. · Ellie Gough, Grade 8, W.H. Morden: Ellie is an outstanding role model who always has a positive attitude and a smile on her face. She is eager to help others and can always be counted on to help out when needed. She truly encompasses excellence in leadership, determination, empathy, thoughtfulness and kindness. Ellie looks out for others and makes others strive to be their best, simply by being herself. She truly is the best representative of all that is wonderful about Morden. · Meghan Conn, Grade 8, West Oak: Meghan exemplifies excellence in all that she does. Academically, she is an avid learner who always demonstrates curiosity and interest in what she is doing. She puts forth her best effort and looks for ways in which to infuse her learning with creativity and extensions. Her academic performance is stellar as are her learning skills. Socially, Meghan demonstrates excellence in her involvement in the school community. She is an active member of the band, student council, kiss n' ride team, peer tutors, as well as many other school based clubs / teams. She conducts herself in a manner that exemplifies our school norms and sets an example for all other students. Meghan is also very kind, respectful, helpful, and thoughtful in her daily interactions with peers and staff.
