Launched earlier this month for Alzheimer Awareness Month, the #StillHere campaign is meant to challenge, and hopefully reverse, negative attitudes towards dementia. "Life doesn't end when Alzheimer's begins," stated a media release issued by the Alzheimer Society of Hamilton and Halton. "People living with dementia can continue to participate in life and contribute to their communities -- in their own way, even as the disease progresses." Yet, according to a Nanos survey, which saw 1,000 Canadians aged 18 and older participate between July 19-28, 2015, most Canadians are divided in their beliefs on whether someone with dementia can live well. It showed a split down the middle with Health "Connected to your Community" Life doesn't end when Alzheimer's begins.
