C L O T H E S C A L L I N G 27 | Thursday, May 12, 2016 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com Oakville's Plato's Closet held a anniversary celebration last weekend and on Friday (May 6) a percentage of sales from a Midnight Madness event supported SafetyNet. In addition, bags of clothing and shoes were also donated by the sisters who co-own the shop, pictured Jill McChesney, left, and Melody Taylor. In the centre is Bill Shields of SafetyNet charity as the trio hold a large, sunglasses-shaped mirror that was to be auctioned off at midnight with proceeds to SafetyNet. The local shop is an ongoing partner supporter of SafetyNet Children & Youth Charities, which relies on community donations to provide free clothing to financially-disadvantaged families. It accepts donations of clothing, shoes, coats, linens, and business suits. Donated clothing can be dropped off at SafetyNet's clothing bank at 226 Randall Street, the bottom floor, or picked up by contacting www.safetynetservices.ca. | photo by Graham Paine Oakville Beaver (Follow on Twitter @halton_photog or facebook.com/HaltonPhotog) We were spending too much time in the kitchen.
