The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) announced Monday (Aug. 22) Oakville's Rogelia Malacao was celebrating after winning the top prize of Instant Crossword Tripler. "I enjoy playing the Crossword Instant Games," said Malacao while picking up her winnings at the OLG Prize Centre. "I picked up this ticket on my way home and decided to play during my bus ride." Malacao said she couldn't believe her eyes as the words were revealed one by one. "I checked the back of the ticket and was in disbelief," she said. "When I got to my stop, I went to the nearest store and gave my ticket to the retailer. Both of us started to cry when $100,000 appeared on the screen, and the retailer gave me a hug." The winning ticket was purchased at Gateway Newstands on Burnhamthorpe Road in Mississauga. Trip to Philippines planned Malacao said the money would allow her to go back to the Philippines to visit and take care of her family. She noted she also has a few less grandiose plans. "I can't wait to buy myself a new coat, shoes and glasses to start," said Malacao. "I feel like I am floating on clouds, I still can't believe I won."
