The Grade 1 students start off the day by decorating paper vests with 100 things, reading about the 100th day of school, writing about w hat they think they can buy with $100, drawing how they think they will look when they are 100 years old and counting to 100 with various manipulatives/activities. The most excit ing part of the day was The Big Trade. Students were sent home with a Ziploc bag with instructions to fill it with 100 small objects (ie. stickers, treats/candy, pencils, erasers etc.) which they would like to trade within given time limits.
