This year marks the 250th anniver sary of the great composer' s life. The concert's chorus is made up of singers from numerous choirs in the area, collectively called Masterworks of Oakville Chorus and Orchestra. Five soloists are involved in the con cert, including Oakville's Marian Sjolander. A native of Scandinavia, Sjolander moved to Canada as a child and has lived in Oakville for the past 20 years. * After extensive musical training in Canada, the UK and the United ^States, Sjolander sang many leading operatic roles in Europe and has performed on the concert stage in Scandinavia, the U.S. and the Toronto area. Since her marriage, she has been singing locally for churches and non profit organizations. Recently, she sang to raise money for Tsunami Relief for the Canadian Red Cross. Mozart's Requiem and Vivaldi's Gloria will be performed at St. Andrew's Church, 47 Reynolds St. on Friday, Feb. 24 and Saturday, Feb. 25 at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $20, $18 for seniors, $10 for students and are available at Bookers, L' Atelier Grigorian and Notes Music in downtown Oakville, or at Leslie Music on Speers Rd.
