Aerial view of Lot 15 Concession 1 SDS, 1950s. Local Farms History On the south side of Dundas Street, between Trafalgar Road and Sixth Line, there were three original 200-acre lots. These were, from east to west, Lots 13, 14 and 15 in Concession 1 SDS. Memorial Park is situated on parts of Lots 14 and 15. Lot 15 This lot was originally granted to Daniel Munn in 1808. Daniel deeded land for a school and church on this lot in 1808 and a log structure was built in 1809, serving as both a church and a school until the mid-19th century. Land was deeded behind the school in 1820 for the cemetery--the first internment in the cemetery was Daniel himself in 1822. The Munn family farmhouse was constructed to the east of the cemetery, likely by King Henry (K.H.) Munn, son of Daniel and Millicent, and his wife Ann (Snider) Munn. An image of the house was displayed on the 1858 Tremaine Map of Halton County and labelled as "Spring Creek Farm," signifying its prominence at the time. A more recent photo from the 1990s shows the changes to the house after a fire destroyed much of the original house in the early 1930s. The house and barns were demolished in 2003 and replaced with condominiums. Millicent Munn, daughter of K.H. and Ann Munn, married R. Alexander Fleming. This began the 100-year history of the Fleming family farming on this lot. In 1939 there was a barn raising for Robert D. Fleming, son of R. Alexander and Millicent. From the 1940s to the 1990s, the Hays family owned the lot, as well as parts of Lot 13 and all of Lot 14.
