The Oakville native recently moved from w ing to centre during her rookie season. How did you handle the pres sure of being one of the youngest players with Canada's National Women's Development Team at the Nations Cup? I played two years of under-18, so com ing in as a younger player I was pretty nervous, but the older veterans made me feel great. It was pretty cool playing w ith players like Sarah Davis w ho played here, as well. It was just an overall great experience. Were you the youngest player on the team? There were three of us born in 1998, so it was nice to have som e other younger players there, too. How did it feel to score two goals at the Nations Cup? I think I gained a lot of confidence from that tourney, and am bringing it back here. Hopefully I can build off of that. How have you handled the tran sition to college hockey? I think it was a transition coming from high school. I think I've been getting better every single game. I've been trying to. How has your game evolved since coming to the University of Minnesota? I think the biggest thing is shoot ing the puck more. That is som e thing Coach Frost keeps telling me. I think since I've gotten here my defensive play has really stepped it up a notch, and m y battle and com pete level, too. After a tough loss, how do you self evaluate? I think you have to take som e good things and bad things out of the game. We go over video and pick out mistakes. We also have to celebrate the good things that go on out there. -- courtesy U. o f M innesota Oakville's Rick Zeron (third from left) and his supporters celebrate Zeron's O'Brien Award for Horsemanship on Saturday night.
