The forum is being convened by Stephen Paquette, chair, Indigenous Education Advisory Committee; R. Stacey LaForme, Chief, M ississaugas of the New Credit First Nation; Sherry Saevil, Indigenous Education Advisory, Halton Catholic District School Board; and, Tammy Hardwick, Instructional Program Lead, First Nation, Metis and Inuit Education. The public is invited to attend a community discussion on Truth and Reconciliation on Monday, Feb. 13, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., at MacLachlan College, 337 Trafalgar Rd. R e g istra tio n begins at 6 p.m. followed by a traditional s m u d g i n g ceremony 6:30 p.m. at An indigenous perspective presented means in Oakville, from 7-8:30 p.m. The Indigenous Education Advisory Committee of the Halton Catholic and District School Boards, YMCA of Oakville, Oakville Community Foundation, Town of Oakville, and a number of local independent schools and businesses have been collaborating on local projects, as well as the challenge of incorporating the values of reconciliation in everyday activities.
