Canada scored ju st 1 :1 7 into W ednesday's bronze-medal game and upped its lead to 2 -0 two m inutes later. It led 3-1 by the end of the first, though the Czechs would cu t that lead to 4 -3 in second period. Despite being outshot 11 -4 in the third, Canada held on for the win, earning a medal for the 15 th time in 16 Universiade tournam ents. Oakville's Slater Doggett had two goals and four assists in six games for Canada. Doggett, now in his second year with the Queen' s Gaels, ranks fifth in Ontario University Athletics scoring with 13 goals and 33 points in 2 2 games. Canada w ent 3 -0 in pool play shutting out the United States 6 -0 and Great Britain 14-0. Doggett had a goal and an assist as Canada clinched first place in its pool with a 5 -3 win over Slovakia. Oakville's Brianne Jenner is launching her hockey academ y July 1 0 -1 4 at Six teen Mile Sports Complex. The week-long program is for players from the ages of six to 2 0 of all skill lev els, from house league to rep to junior. It will be primarily a girls-only program though co-ed options are available in the younger age groups. There will be op tions for full-day programs as well as spe cific programs for a few hours each day.
