During a press conference at police headquarters in Oakville on Saturday, April 22, HRPS announced that it is part nering with MADD Canada to launch Campaign 911 in Halton Region. By calling 911 and reporting suspected impaired drivers to police, the commu nity can play a role in reducing impaired driving cases, deaths and injuries. Campaign 911 is a Canada-wide cam paign to encourage and empower the Canadian public to report suspected im paired driving by calling 911. Since it was first introduced in 2007, Halton police officers along with MADD Canada Halton volunteers were at St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School recently promoting a Safe Prom - `Choose your Ride' message to students. Earlier in the day, they were at Abbey Park High School for a similar presentation.
