Despite the wet conditions at Bronte Heritage Park, the July 1 Canada Day celebrations will take place there as planned. Thats according to the Town of Oakville and the Bronte Business Improvement Association (BIA), who are working together to make any necessary location adjustments to activities that could be impacted by further flooding. Saturated grounds at Coronation Park have already forced the Town to move the annual Children' s Festival to the Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre (QEPCCC), and high water levels have also impacted smallerscale, event permits at other parks, such as Lions Valley Park and Gairloch Gardens, happening over the next few weeks. Town staff is working with permit holders to reschedule or relocate their events. While some water issues could arise at Bronte Heritage Park on or before July 1, depending on the weather, Bronte' s popular Canada Day celebrations, which will mark the country' s 150th birthday this year, will go on as planned, according to Sarah Douglas-Murray, Town senior manager of Cultural Services.
