Joe leaves Nuala, the love of his life and wife of 61 years, and their children Gerri (Bruce), Peter(Nadia), Bernice (Rob) and Laura (Kevin). Joe's nine grand children -- Brian, Brent, Alessia, Taylor, Maeve, Rebecca, Brendan, Isabel and Natalie -- were each a special light in his life. Joe's life was filled with the joys of family and he treasured his siblings, his siblings-in-law, and all his nieces and nephews who all loved their Uncle Joe. Joe is predeceased by his siblings Paddy, Eddie, & Nonie and many close friends. Visitation will be on Thursday May 18 from 2 p.m. 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home 'Oakville Chapel', 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville. Joe's Funeral mass will be held at St Dominic's Roman Catholic Church at 2415 Rebecca Street in Oakville at 11 a.m. on Friday May 19. The mass will be followed by burial at Springcreek Cemetery at 1390 Clarkson Road North, Mississauga. BEAUCHAMP, Joan Frances (Nee Chatley) 1932-2017 A fter a lengthy and courageous battle, Mom passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 10th with her family, her Bella, and her very special caregivers, Ashley, Phoebe and Maria, by her side. As she demonstrated throughout her life, Mom battled 12 years with such grace, spirit and a gentle strength. Having settled in Oakville after arriving from England in 1958, Joan was an active volunteer in addition to her work with her children's schools and activities. Many knew her as an admitting clerk at OTMH and some enjoyed her as a volunteer at the IODE Opportunity Shop. For 49 years, Mom was a member of the Angela Bruce chapter of the IODE where she held numerous positions including Regent. It was through this involvement that she became a keen competitor at the Oakville Curling Club, which endorsed her avid interest in all sports, including Premier League Football from the UK. Joan leaves her husband of 62 years, Bernard, as well as her two children, Joanne and Michael. Joanne's family, husband Bob, grandchildren Brock, Natalie and Kyle, Zackary and wife Jamie, and their children Rachel and Lucas. Michael's family, wife Lorie, granddaughter Alicia and husband Bryan Odom, and their children Taylor and Alexander. Mom was known as "G ig i" to her great-grand children and she will be truly missed! She enjoyed childhood with her brother John and many cousins as her parents were both from large families. She loved London and also spent many enjoyable summers at the seaside with her cousins. She won a scholarship to Godolphin and Latimer girls school where she completed her education. After school, she worked as a legal secretary in London. During the war she met Peter Bishop a young officer from New Brunswick, Canada. They were later married. Once the war was over they decided to move to Canada and got employment in Toronto. They had one daughter Judith and moved to Oakville in 1953. Muriel worked as a legal secretary for Canada Trust and enjoyed gardening and photography. She was an active member of the Oakville Horticultural Society and won many prizes for her flowers. Muriel and Peter were married for 49 years. Peter passed away in 1991 and Muriel remained in Oakville. She enjoyed her garden and also travelled a number of times to England to visit with her brother John. In 1994 she travelled to Zimbabwe to visit with cousins from her childhood. She enjoyed the trip, spending time watching elephants and giraffe while on a safari. Muriel and daughter Judy enjoyed trips to New Brunswick in the summer to visit family on Pete's side. Muriel always loved the ocean. Over her lifetime, Muriel had many pets a favorite dog being a Fox terrier named Peggy. Muriel moved into Trafalgar Lodge when she was 93. She enjoyed the friendships and playing bridge with the other residents. Muriel and Judy went out for lunch most Wednesdays when Muriel got her hair done and did some shopping. Unfortunately, due to declining health Muriel moved into Extendicare Mississauga in December of 2015. Muriel passed away on May 11, 2017. She was 103. Muriel is survived by daughter Judith and nieces and nephews in Toronto, Saint John, New York and London England.
