The purpose of these draft amendments will be to incorporate into the Livable Oakville Plan modifications to the text and schedules in order to provide for a town-wide urban structure and establish the basis for official plan policy and for making planning decisions. The draft amendments also provide for revisions to the North Oakville East and West Secondary Plans to align them with the changes to the Livable Oakville Plan. The effect of these draft amendments will be to provide for a town-wide urban structure framework that protects natural heritage, open space and cultural heritage; maintains the character of residential areas; and directs growth to an identified system of nodes & corridors. These draft amendments apply to all lands within the Town of Oakville municipal boundary, including: · the lands under the Livable Oakville Plan, south of Dundas Street and north of Hwy 407; and, · the lands under the North Oakville East Secondary Plan and the North Oakville West Secondary Plan that are located north of Dundas Street up to Hwy 407. If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to Council c/o the Town Clerk at the Town of Oakville, Clerk's department, 1225 Trafalgar Road, Oakville, ON L6H 0H3 or at townclerk@oakville.ca before the proposed official plan amendment is adopted: a. the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Town of Oakville Council to the Ontario Municipal Board; and b. the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party. Any submission to the Planning and Development Council, either in hard copy or in electronic format, must be forwarded to the Clerk's department for receipt no later than noon on Monday, June 12, 2017, to ensure its availability to the Members of Council at the meeting. Individuals making oral submissions at the public meeting are requested to submit a written outline of the submission to the Town Clerk. All submissions should include the full name and address of the presenter.
