Rotary International is a worldwide organization o f business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build peace and goodw ill. Approximately 1.2 m illion Rotarians belong to more than 32,000 clubs in over 200 countries and geographical areas around the world. Rotary has been active in O akville since 1925, and club members have been actively committed to community and international service, and aiding local youth, for decades. There are currently three Rotary Clubs in O akville, o f which O akville Trafalgar Rotary is the largest. The club has organized The C o-operator's O akville Family R ibfest fundraiser for the past five years. The club raises and gives away about $100,000 each year to help where there is a need. Men and women aged 25 and over are encouraged to seek membership in a local Rotary Club if they are interested in helping to make our world a better place, and have some spare time to volunteer. O akville Trafalgar Rotary meets on Thursdays at noon at Le Dome Banquet Hall in Oakville for 90 minutes o f fellow ship, including a presentation by an invited guest speaker. Well, you can be sure it will go to help those in need, as that's where Rotary's expertise lies. With Rotary, your change can create change. The Oakville Trafalgar Rotary club, which organizes Ribfest, has been active for more than 35 years, and has raised and given away millions of dollars for many initiatives. Any donations you make at Ribfest go to our various projects. And with Rotary, there are no administration fees, so 100% of the net proceeds are put to work. Admission is free. Donations are welcome, as Ribfest is a charitable fundraiser run by Oakville Trafalgar Rotary. Do ribbers, beer tents or vendors accept Credit or Debit cards? No. All sales at Ribfest are CASH ONLY. There is an ATM on-site. Can I bring my dog or other pet? Pets are prohibited in the event area due to the large crowds and food preparation. Service animals are permitted. Can I bring my bicycle or skateboard? Yes. Although bicycles and skateboards are not allowed inside the gates, they can be locked to the barrier fencing near the entrances. If it's hot, is there shade? Large tents with tables and chairs are set up in the beer/wine sales areas, but most of the site is open ground with no trees. Bring hats and sunscreeen, and look for our Misting Station so you can cool off. Can I bring my own drinks? No. Alcoholic drinks and all open beverages will be confiscated at the gate.
