Several new companies opened in Oakville in 2016, which helped the municipality exceed its target of adding 1,000 new jobs annually. The target is all but looked after for next year, too, as the Town awaits Aviva Canada, a property and casualty insurance group, to consolidate its operations in January 2018 in a new office, expected to bring approximately 800 jobs to Oakville.
