The crash took place shortly after 7:30 a.m. when an eastbound van crossed over the centre line and struck another van travelling westbound, ac cording to Halton police. Police said a 57-year-old Mississauga man, the driver of the westbound van, suffered serious injuries and was airlift ed to a Toronto-area hospital where he was listed in critical condition Tuesday afternoon. The other driver, a 30-yearold Oakville man, was treated for minor injuries at the scene. Halton police's Collision Reconstruc tion Unit was called in to investigate. All westbound and eastbound traffic on Burhamthorpe between Ninth and Trafalgar was shut down four hours for the investigation. There was no word on charges or why the eastbound van crossed over the centre line.
