"Looking forward to seeing you there" OTJOYV) Ha*r Studio Q jptow & Aesthetician DUNDA 1 ST Yokes was straightforward, honest guy (Continued from page B6) His son Michael, a lawyer at the firm Vokes & Pettinato in downtown Oakville, was bom in 1947 when his father's active military career was over. He remembers his father as a straightforward, honest, regular guy who wasn't particularly strict and didn't ran the home like a military operation. "He wasn't a politician, that's for sure, and he had a good sense of humour. He liked telling yams. He was a good storyteller. When I was growing up, we went fishing together out west and hunted birds a bit in the fall," he said. "He didn't talk expansively to me about his experiences in the war. We talked about lots of things but not the war. His father played a role in his career choice - he was around military people all his life. "Ironically, he wanted my brother and I to go into the army but he didn't provide a lot of infor mation about why he chose it as a career or why he thought it was a great career choice for us. "My brother Fred had a career in the army and fought in the Korean War. He retired in 1978 as a Major. I'm not sure what my brother's motivation was, he was keen to do it and I wasn't. My dad was proud of me, nonetheless." 2530 6th Line, Oa kvi l l e X ~ I p to v n Hair <SLudfo ^ 1 1 1 905 257-8998 - 1 O z R IV E R G L E N BL V D '§ ` X < O G L E N A S H T O N DR j< | t U PPER M l 3D L E R D Ladies' coordinates To ta k e you fro m th e w o rk d a y to th e w e e k e n d .
