Church Street was the arena Saturday and Sunday (Nov. 25 and 26) as Rogers Hometown Hockey slid into town. Oakville resident Ron MacLean co-hosted the Oakville event with Tara Slone. Activities began Saturday with the Hometown Hockey Festival from noon-6 p.m. There was a bevy of hockey-related activities for kids and adults along with appearances by former NHLers, autograph sessions and entertainment. A highlight Saturday was the donation by Scotiabank of $7,500 each to the Oakville Rangers and Oakville Hornets hockey associations.
