NEWS Election candidates can begin registering May 1 Oakville candidates who wish to run for office in the 2018 municipal and school board elections can begin registering on May 1. Nominations will be accepted for the of­ fice of the mayor, town and regional council­ lors, regional chair and school board trust­ ees. Candidates may complete and file nom­ ination forms at the clerk's department at town hall from May 1 to July 26 during reg­ ular business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 27.
