E o ... </> ■ Friends of the Library Book Sale this weekend Pound for pound, if you are looking for value, variety and fun the Friends of the Library's upcoming Annual Spring Book Sale tops the scales! Each Spring and Fall, the Friends (a non-profit fundraising and advocacy group) sell used books by the pound. The money raised is put toward Oakville Public Library services and enhancements. Over $55,000 has been raised for the library through these Book Sales, an annual Reading Room Raffle spon­ sored by Oakville Place Mall, and the sale of $10 Annual Memberships. The Spring sale is open to the public on Friday to Sunday. Shoppers will get weighed down in bargains when they see the diverse selection being offered for just $0.95 per pound. Featured in the sale are Children's books, adult fiction/non-fic- tion, reference materials, encyclope­ dias, other languages, and many lifestyle books (including How To's, computers, gardening, and cooking). The sale, which takes place in the Central Library Auditorium (120. Navy Street), opens to the public after a Friends 'Members Only' sale event Thursday night.. On Thursday evening a $10 Friends of the Library membership gave mem­ bers the opportunity to make advance purchases prior to the public sale dates.
