- Description
- Oakville Fire Chief Doug Wilson on our left, holding an extinguisher with Trafalgar Fire Chief on the right. ? looks on from the driver's seat of the fire truck.
No information came to us with this photograph but it is prior to January 1, 1962 because on that date the Trafalgar and Oakville Fire Departments merged. The Bronte Fire Department remained volunteer with Grant Bray overseeing the district No. 1 volunteers, Elden Perkins managed No. 2 district and Larry Wilson oversaw Bronte district No. 3.
For more information on the Fire Departments, stations and equipment in the south of Halton County over the years, consult the Oakville Fire Department book, "Reflections of a Proud Heritage 1909-2009" available at the Oakville Public Library and area historical societies. - Inscriptions
