At approximately 1:30 a.m., members from the West Parry Sound detach- ment of the Ontario Provin- cial Police (OPP) were on general patrol on Highway 400 in Seguin Township when they noticed a vehicle driving with its high beams on, said Provincial Const. Joe Scali, OPP media offi- cer. The officers pulled the vehicle over and then while speaking with the driver re- portedly spotted drugs in plain sight in the car. Police initiated a drug investigation, which re- sulted in the seizure of il- licit cannabis products, various amphetamines and hallucinogens, more than $3,000 in cash and a Taser, said Scali. The woman has been charged with: • unauthorized posses- sion of a weapon • occupying a motor ve- hicle knowing there was a restricted or prohibited weapon present • possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 • possession of a sched- ule 3 substance • possession of a sched- ule 3 substance for the pur- pose of trafficking • possession of illicit can- nabis contrary to the Can- nabis Act • failure to use lower beams-following, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The woman is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on Aug. 5. Drugs, cash and a Taser were seized by the OPP after a traffic stop in Parry Sound on July 5.
