Materials will be made available for the public to study starting Oct. 14. Residents will be then able to email the study team with their talking points. The municipality is conducting a Mu- nicipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA). An EA is a study of a given area initiated by a government in order to de- cide how to best use the chosen land. In this case, the Town is "input related to this project, including the recom- mended alternative mitigation measures, evaluation criteria, potential environmen- tal effects, and any other concerns." The government's own models show that the Joshua's Creek area south of Up- per Middle Road, which includes the Ford Motor Company plant and several homes, is prone to flooding. Information provided by the Town of Oakville considers scenarios of a 100-year storm, a 100-year storm adjusted for cli- mate change and a regional storm. All three show significant flooding with a po- tential for property damage.
