The incident occurred on Oct. 7 at ap- proximately 3:15 p.m. when the victim was walking along the pedestrian walkway and was approached by the suspect. The sus- pect tried to engage the victim in conversa- tion and then "pulled her to the ground" and allegedly sexually assaulted her, po- lice said in a news release. The suspect ran off when some children approached the area. He was last seen run- ning northbound on the pedestrian walk- way towards Whilabout Terrace. The suspect is described as male, white, 25 to 30 years old, 6 foot to 6-foot-1 and not clean shaven, with short blond hair, blue eyes and a thin build, wearing a navy blue T-shirt with grey jogging pants and white Nike Airforce One running shoes. Police are asking residents who live in this area to check home security video for anyone matching this description. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact De- tective Constable Andrew Corrie of the Child and Sexual Assault Unit at 905-825- 4777 ext. 8971.
