"The impression that there is more conflict and frustration in the world today than ever before is completely false," declared Dr. Chisholm." "At present there is more agreement between nations than at any time in history. In. the United Nations there are.| probably more than fifty agree- ments to one disagreement. "When we criticize the United Nations we criticize ourselves," he said, In many parts of the. world there -are hundreds of millions of people not civilized enough to support the United Nations," the speaker continued. The ultimate success of the U.N. organization, he pointed out, depended upon the peoples of the world becoming more truly civilized. "At the pre- sent time the United Nations is only a hope," he said. "It has not yet fulfilled its destiny, which lies in the hope that there may be enough civilized people to support it. Flames spread to the rear of the house occupied by Mr. Fuller, and to the, front of a small house behind the garage, occupied by Leonard Wright and his family. Oakville fire brigade fought the stubborn blaze for more than an hour before getting it under control. While the dep- uty chief was unable to estimate damage, he believed it would ex- ceed $1,000. Mr. Fuller's car was not in the garage. HIGH SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS By Myke Dyer Now, then, children" the moral of this two-week delay is: don't drop your typewriter upside down onto a hard floor!
