Design & Install - Lifetime Warranty - Custom to the Millimetre 289-812-8952 Halton police descended on a local high school Friday after- noon (June 3) after receiving a re- port of shots being fired. Sgt. Mark Underwood said a resident called and told officers a vehicle had passed in front of Iro- quois Ridge High School at 1123 Glenashton Dr., and that some- one had fired shots at a group of kids. When police arrived, the group of kids who was supposed- ly fired on was not present and neither was the vehicle. "We have no injuries to the public," said Underwood. "We believe it's possible this is part of the ongoing TikTok Or- beez Challenge where students are firing various rounds of pel- lets or water-type pistols at pe- destrians to see if they can cause some shock to them. This time there is no risk to the public." Six police cruisers and mem- bers of the Halton Police Tactical Rescue Team could be seen out- side school shortly after the shots were reported. No arrests have been made. Police canvassed the area for vid- eo of the incident. Underwood noted a lockdown of the school did not take place as classes had already ended for the day. This incident comes just days after White Oaks Secondary School went into lockdown after police received reports of a man with a gun in the area. That incident ended with a 16- year-old Oakville boy being charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose after a replica handgun was re- covered.
