We saw many different types of coral including brain coral, fire coral and others that were just breathtaking. There was also an abundance of beautiful tropical fish. I think it was the best snorkeling we did all semester. We ate our lunch in a tree that day at an unusual restaurant whose dining area was built in the spreading branches of a huge tree. We tried many of the local dishes and the food was very good. Then we took a scenic route back to the boat lasting all afternoon. We arrived a day early in Tobago courtesy of favourable Caribbean winds. There was no room for us to dock, so we anchored in King‘s Bay and spent the day finishing up our Marine Biology projects which were due at midnight, and swimming off the boat. We couldn‘t jump from the yards though because it was too shallow, so we had to settle for the bowsprit. Dear Oakville: The next day we left King‘s Bay late morning, and by the time we arrived in Scarborough where we docked and cleared customs, it was time to get ready for the reception. We met local students at the Scarborough Public Library. They were particularly friendly and made us feel very welcome. The following day we visited two schools. At the first one, a students‘ steel drum band played for us! They were extremely talented and the music really lovely. At the second school there was a major presentation for us. Schools from all over had sent groups of singers and dancers. They were very good. Then we performed a play for them. it was a comedy about the history of Canada. My part was to represent the nation of China! They all loved it. Then we sang "In the Jungle" and "For What It‘s Worth", which they also enjoyed. That evening we hosted a public visit to the Concordia. Many students came to visit the boat, and we exchanged addresses to add to our evergrowing lists of pen pals from around the world. For dinner that night we had our second Thanksgiving turkey dinner for the American students. It was very good. The residents named by Coons, said they thought their names were confidential under the act, and at least two said they have launched complaints with Ontario‘s Information and Privacy Commission. However Coons said each had, through the media, released their own name in connection to board issues. The chair didn‘t name any of the other 23 persons who have made FOI requests of the board.
