Parkinsons in Motion is a sixâ€" week program of activity and eduâ€" cation for Parkinson‘s patients. Classes are twice a week, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 1:30 to 3 p.m.. "Most people with Parkinsons are reasonably mobile, but must keep busy in order to stay limber," said Mary McCarter, founder of the local Parkinson Foundation. The foundation was able to make the program available because of a successful Monster Bingo fundraisâ€" er night held last year. This is the fourth time the program has taken place since last May. "It‘s very successful. The patients have a good time and get to meet some new friends," said McCarter. Patients can also bring a family member or friend to the classes with them. Classes start on Wednesday, March 17th. There is a one time registration fee of $15. For more information contact the Program Coâ€"ordinator in Physiotherapy at OTMH, 338â€"4613, or the Parkinson Foundation, Mary McCarter 844â€" §992. ment. STARVED For PizzA The Heart and _ Stroke Foundation‘s campaign ended last week, but a number of areas of Oakville were not canvassed. If anyone in your family has had either one of these health problems (a very likely possibility), you will realize how valuable the research is that this organization funds. Please help the Heart and Stroke Foundation fight Canada‘s major health enemies by sending your donation to the agency, or offer to volunteer by doing a leaflet drop (particularly in the Glen Abbey and River Oaks areas) Contact Mary Goodfellow at 634â€"7732. Kidner disease has no single cause, little prevention and no cure. It can strike anyone, at any time, at any age. Every day an average of four Canadians learn that their kidâ€" neys will fail. When kidney failure occurs, dialysis and transplants are the only treatment options to return the patient to a near normal healthy life style. The Kidney Foundation of Canada is in need of volunteers to assist them with their annual March Doorâ€"toâ€"Door Campaign and help them in the fight against kidâ€" Linda Ludwig R.M.T.
