Quickness in the backcourt and rebounding are the vital ingredients a team of Halton high school basket- ball all-stars will be seeking in preparation for the annual Toronto Star Classic. Eight all-star squads from Metro Toronto, including Hamilton, Peel, Durham, Simcoe and York. will com- pete in the annual event, April 6-10. In its two previous appearances. Halton has managed to win its opening game only to lose in the semifinals. Last year. Halton was sidelined by Peel North. "We don't have the quickness to handle other team's full-court pres- sure," head coach Vern Lucyk oi Halton champion Burlington Lester B. Pearson said. "(And) we don't get the easy shot from our pressure. "Halton has 17 schools but we don't have 17 strong basketball schools."
