As the couple began planning “We thought it was lovely to have it at dawn. It will be the beginning of a new day...peaceful and a new .day and we thought it was inspiring for a marriage,” said Ting from her Burlington office yesterday. At first, many of the wedding guests thought the couple was crazy, but apparently most have been charmed into attending the 5:30 am. Sunday wedding. Romance should be in the air early -- very early - today as Oakville residents Rose Ting and Warren Boyd “tie the knot” at dawn in Lakeside Park. By ANGELA BLACKBURN Oakville Beaver staff MORNING GLORY Couple gets early start to married life Fine Oak @? QUALITY OAKFURNITURE Boyd and Ting have written their own ceremony and will wear traditional bridal gown and tuxe- do. The couple hopes the sunrise will be symbolic of the dawn of their new days together as hus- band and wife. Enchanted with the quiet living in Oakville where the Toronto-raised Ting and Boyd have lived for about two years, the couple hopes the peace at dawn will be reflected in their married life. “We picked the location because we liked it and because it’s romantic,” said Ting. their wedding about two months ago, they had no preconceptions about what they might do. They chose the park ceremony and chose Lakeside Park because that’s where the couple regularly take sunset strolls after work dur- ing the summer months. 0F CAMPBEILVIIIE “You do the best you can for everything before hand and when the day comes, it doesn’t matter what happens, it’ll be lovely,” says the bride-to-be. On Wednesday, she found a hairdresser willing to book a 4:45 am. appointment to do the bride’s hair. Mexico is the expected honey- moon destination, although Ting said booking plans were still afoot yesterday. And what if the sun doesn’t cooperate with the wedding party arriving early near the banks'of Oakville Harbor Sunday? Now, Ting and Boyd have invited those guests willing to get up early for the ceremony to their Oakville home for a casual break- fast, to be followed by wedding photos and an informal day before the cruise at dusk rounds out their wedding day. And despite the ceremony’s early hour, Ting says she plans to sleep. She’ll get up around 4 am. The couple had originally planned to carry out the ceremony on their own at dawn and char- tered an evening cruise in Toronto for a reception for guests. The “intimate and cozy” wed- ding, as Ting describes it, will include a maid of honor and best man - and numerous guests who apparently have decided they don’t mind getting up early. A rel- ative will play classical guitar at the ceremony.
