Abbozzo Gallery, 179 Lakeshorc Rd. E. presents its Fine Art and Wine show, opening tonight between 6 and 9 p.m., and featuring a collection of sculpture from local artists as well as classic wines from the Monterey' Vineyard in California. The Oakville Museum is gearing up for the Chn'slmas season with two special events, basketâ€"making work- shops for adults and children and the popular Christmas Tea and Tour. The Christmas Basket Making Workshop for Children will take place tomorrow for children 7 and up between 1 and 3 pm. A fund-raiser for the Erchless Restoration Fund, the event includes a variety of “delectable treats” as well as a tour of Erchless which will be decorated for a 1920’s Christmas. 'I’lckets, which are $10 per person, are available by calling the Museum at the above number. Barbara Anderson has been paint- ing and sculpting for over 20 years. This show will feature fine sculptures in both bronze and stone. Museum workshops Oakville Museum volunteers host their popular Christmas Tea and Tour, Sunday, Dec. 5th between 3 and 5 pm. Fine Art and Wine at Abbozzo Mae Giroux, has shown extensive- ly in the southern Ontario region since 1972. A graduate from the Ontario College of Art, she has experimented in several mediums. Her fibre works were included in an An Exchange in Elsse Dorbeck has received several awards for her bronze and stone works from various group and solo shows. Her works are in private collections from Edmonton to China. Mittens needed The members of Delta Epsilon, part of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, are looking for new and used mit- tens for their mitten ‘trees’ which can be found in all local branches of the TD Bank. The mittens will be collected and handed over to the Oakville Parent Child Centre, located on Kerr Street. . v . t Elliott has performed his one-man show in theatres, universities and clubs and has also opened for Rodney Dangerfield in New York City and Jay Leno at Theatre Ste. Denis in Montreal. Elliott launched his career in 1974 as a folk musician in eastern Canada but continued to write monologues and comedy routines. Today, he com- bines a unique yet wacky style with timeless maten'al and insightful obser- vations. Elliott has also produced screen- plays, television oomedies, skits and comedy revues. Comic Eclipse The Oakville Centre’s professional Catch a Rising Star Comedy Series continues Nov. 26th and 27th with an appearance by Lorne Elliott in the Studio Theatre. Terry Corbett resides in Toronto and began sculpting in 1987. Focusing primarily on realism in marble and alabaster, he creates the occasional abstract. Micheline Likas is a director and teacher at the Oakville Art Society. Diverse in herwork, Likas stresses one of a kind pieces which carry a sense of meaning she hopes will be felt by each person who comes in con- tact with her work. Editt Richman has had extensive schooling in Israel, Italy and Canada A graduate from The Ontario College of Art, Richman has returned from ItalyAwere she studied and immersed Dorothy Wilde’s raku pieces are different and unique in both style and concept. Wilde has exhibited through- out the Oakville-Burlington region and has received several awards for her works. Maureen McKay, has a degree in fine an from the University of Guelph. A graduate from-the Ontario College of Art she completed her fourth year of study in Italy. McKay works in sev- eral mediums including mixed media installations, wood and photography. herself with local artisans.
