September 7, 1994 hat a day. What a day. Sharkey‘s local 8th Annual 5km Run For The Kids in support of National Tay Sach‘s and Allied Diseases made a lot of people happy on Monday. It was, for many, an exhaustâ€" ing, yet exhilarating morning. Most importantly, perhaps, it raised between $5,000 and $6,000 for Tay Sach‘s and Allied Diseases â€" a neuro degenerative genetic fatal disorder afflicting children. Little wonder organizers at the race were ecstatic. "It just keeps getting bigger and bigger," commented Carl Ann Szwarz, president of the National Tay Sach‘s and Allied Diseases.
