The Oakville Star Data Strikers underâ€"11 boys rep soccer team finâ€" ished the season on a high note last week, taking the Peel Halton League Cup with a 6â€"1 victory over Dixie. Underâ€"11 team wins League C The Oakville side came out strong from the start, stuck to their usual passing game and took advanâ€" tage of a very wide field to use their speed on the wings. Goal scorers for the Oakville Strikers were Eric Duerden (2), Michael Ruppel, Sean Coghlin, Graeme Halbert, and Chris Hormmby. Strong defensive support was supplied by Chris Riddell, Adrian Pasma and Michael Repic. In the semiâ€"final match, Oakville defeated Mississauga 2â€"0. In a game dominated by Oakville, Brandon Pimentel put in an outstanding perâ€" formance, scoring both goals. Conor Murphy recorded the shutout. At the Newmarket Tournament the previous week, the Oakville Strikers got a good warmâ€"up for the Peel Halton Cup weekend. The Strikers also came away with tournaâ€" ment hardware for the fourth time this season by defeating North York Rockets 5â€"4 in the consolation final. The goal scorers throughout the weekend were Michael Silveira (6), Brandon Pimentel (6), Michael Ruppel (6), Josh Pippy (4), Chris Hornby (3), Graeme Halbert, Eric Duerden and Sean Coghlin. In the roundâ€"robin action the Strikers won its group by defeating Guelph 6â€"1, Erin Mills 4â€"1 and Whitby 6â€"0. Dynoâ€"mite! September 21, 1994 The Oakville Dynamos continâ€" ued on their League Cup quest with a convincing 3â€"0 semiâ€"final victory over Brampton Alex Frenke has yet to be scored on in this tournament. Jason Lyle completed the scoring with a penalty shot earned on Simon Adair‘s fine individual effort in the Brampton‘s penalty area. Andriy Revilak maintained his scoring touch by putting the ball into the Brampton net twice. Conor Murphy was solid in goal throughout the tourney in recording one shutout and one penalty save. For the final game of the season in the Peel Halton League, the Oakville Strikers traveled to Dixie. With a great team performance, the Strikers won 3â€"1, with goals from Brandon Pimentel (2) and Chad Aboud. This victory secured third spot in the Premier league for the Strikers, behind Brampton and Come on out, meet and skate with members of the Junior Team of Oakville, "The Oakville Blades". There will be a special appearance by the Blades new "MASCOT" A great way to get back into shape as the hockey season gears up!!
