"This program is a relief mechanism for family members caring for their elders in their home," said Wendy McBride, Program Manager. Nursery school teacher retires RETIREMENT: Gerry Clarke, who has taught pre-school children at Bronte Harbour Nursery School (formerly Springbank) for 20 years, is retiring. She lives in the Bronte and is well known and loved by families, not just in Bronte but across Oakville and Burlington. Her warm caring nature, infectious smile, and her loving way of teaching children like Mary Milutinovich will be missed as she moves with her husband to Port Rowan. The school will be holding an open house to honour her retirement on Friday, June 9 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Walton United Church. Bronte Harbour Nursery School has been located at Walton United Church for many years. Model air show on Sunday The Oakville Model Flying Club, celebrating its 50th anniversary, will hold its 11th annual Air Show at Drumquin Park on Sunday, June 11 featuring acrobatics, combat, sailplanes, war bird flybys and rockets. The show will be held from 12:30 - 3 p.m., rain or shine. Afterwards, spectators are invited to try their hand at flying. To find Drumquin Park, the club's home field, take Trafalgar Road north to Britannia Road and turn left to the park entrance opposite Terra Nurseries.
