MCKENNA-RYAN, Eileen Ann- After a long and courageous battle with cancer Eileen passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on June 9, 2006 at the age of 66. Eileen, beloved wife of Frank. SCOTT, Edward Ramsdell, December 12, 1925 to June 10, 2006~ With dignity, Ed Scott passed away peacefully on June 10th, 2006, in his 81st year. Blessed with a friendly and generous character, he will be remembered for his great sense of humour and his happy and positive approach to life. He will be greatly missed by his loving family; his dear companion, Muriel; and his many friends. Ed served as the cornerstone to his family. He was the proud father of his son Stephen Edward and his daughter Susan Elizabeth; loving grandfather to Nicole, Michael, Allyson and Brittany and caring father-inlaw to Vikki and Ted. He is survived by his younger brother Colin, of Windsor, Nova Scotia. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Helene Elizabeth (nee Burgess) in 1999. They happily celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary earlier in the same year. Born in Montreal to Nellie Hildred of North Hatley and John William of Moray Scotland, Ed attended Montreal West High School and Sir George William College. In WWII, he served as a signalman in the RCNR based from Halifax. Ed participated in North Atlantic convoy duty that included the Murmansk run. Ed was a life long and avid golfer and a long time member of Trafalgar G.C. He was also a very active community volunteer (past president of the Erindale Lions Club) and a proud veteran (Halton Naval Veterans Association and Bronte Legion). As per his expressed wishes, no formal service or visitation will be held, (internment with family to be held at a later date), instead we invite his many friends to join us for a Celebration of Ed Scott's life to be held in Burlington at the Halton Naval Veterans Association Club, (2444 Industrial St., Burlington) on Saturday June 24th, 2006, commencing at 2:00 pm. The family and Muriel Martin sincerely thank the kind and attentive care given by the staff of The Carpenter Hospice, the nurses of Joseph Brant Hospital, and especially Dr. John Holmes of Burlington.
