Keynote speakers will be Bruce Poon Tip, CEO of GAP Adventures and marketing guru, speaker and writer George Torok. Today, GAP Adventures has become a market leader offering small group experiences, with a focus on culture, nature and active travel around the world to more than 40,000 travelers a year. Honoured with Canada's Entrepreneur of the Year and Canada's 100 Leaders of Tomorrow and one of Canada's top 40 Canadians Under 40, Poon Tip is just one of the speakers presenting at the Excellence in Entrepreneurship Conference to be held on Sept. 21. Poon Tip, whose company has most recently been recognized as one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies, as well as Canada's Top 100 Employers and Top 10 Employers for Young People will be the afternoon keynote speaker. Darrell Fox set to visit Oakville for seventh time Darrell Fox, younger brother of the late Terry Fox and national director of the Terry Fox Foundation, is about to make his seventh consecutive annual visit to Oakville. For the past six years he's spoken at the fundraising Terry Fox Barbecue hosted by ScotiaMcLeod that has become the unofficial kickoff to promote Oakville's annual Terry Fox Run. This year's event will be held on Thursday Aug. 17 starting at noon at ScotiaMcLeod's office at 700 Kerr St. There will also be live entertainment, a silent auction and raffle prizes.
