The grant will support professional fees, publicity, advertising and rentals. "This is the kind of seed money Intrada Brass needs to move to the next step in the development of its audience base in Oakville and Halton," said chair, Matthew Colley. "Growing our audience, both in Oakville and the surrounding area, is the key to our goal to become one of the community's most valuable performing arts organizations. We're gratified the Board of the Ontario Trillium Foundation feels justified in making this investment in Intrada Brass and Oakville." Earlier this year, Intrada Brass of Oakville received a $1,500 operating grant from the Town of Oakville through the Oakville Arts Council. The 2006-2007 season at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts will mark Intrada's 10th anniversary. Its Sunday, Oct. 29 concert at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts is billed as a Celebration and will mark the launch of the band's sixth CD, Portrait. The concert will feature three virtuoso soloists including principal cornetist Robert Venables. Other guest soloists this season include trombonist Alastair Kay, a star with Rob McConnell's Boss Brass, and Halton Junior Jazz, the Halton District School Board's gold medal stage band. Tickets for the new season are now on sale at 905-815-2021, or online at www.oakvillecentre.ca.
