Twelve local high schools took part in the 43rd annual United Way Bathtub Race and Campaign Kickoff, with a view to winning the title of Moen's Fastest Tub in Town. Appleby College took the honours, with St. Thomas Aquinas finishing second. St. Thomas Aquinas also won the coveted Moen Spirit Award. The other participating high schools were Abbey Park, Holy Trinity, Iroquois Ridge, King's Christian Collegiate, MacLachlan College, Oakville-Trafalgar, St. Ignatius of Loyola, St. Mildred's-Lightbourn, Thomas A. Blakelock and White Oaks. The event also featured an agency fair, where attendees could pick up information about UWO funded agencies, clowns, a raffle, face painting, and local band, Len's Haulage.
