www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday October 11, 2006 - 7 Plant trees at Donovan Bailey Park Join Ground Breakers Oakville, Field and Stream Rescue and volunteers from around town for a tree planting at Donovan Bailey Park on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. to noon as they plant 400 native trees and bushes. Working in co-operation with the Town of Oakville, the group will plant the area between Bronte and Bridge Roads in this southwest Oakville park. Parking is available along Bridge Road or at St. Dominic School. Everything needed for the planting, from shovels to gloves, will be provided. The planting takes place rain or shine. All ages, including teens needing volunteer hours, are welcome. The planting is the first of a multi-year commitment by Ground Breakers Oakville to renaturalize and beautify Donovan Bailey Park. Over the past two years, this local grassroots group has planted more than 2,100 native trees and bushes in Oakville.
