The resolution will go before regional council next week for final consideration. While a Save the Oak Tree fundraising campaign has brought in about $250,000 to build the road around the tree, regional council had said earlier this year that $343,000 was required by today (Dec. 15). Seeing that the deadline couldn't be met, Oakville Councillor Allan Elgar brought forward a motion that gives the Woodland Oak Tree Preservation Committee another three months to raise the funds.
