For now, however, Fairweather and her employee Kellie Rivers are trying to meet their clients' needs by operating in temporary quarters. Those premises were offered by Doggie Dip & Clip owner Cheryl Walker at Pinegrove Plaza and gladly accepted by the folks at Royal Treatment. While Fairweather is working through insurance and rebuilding issues, she is taking grooming appointments -- which are done at the space being used on Pinegrove. After a call to 911, about 20 firefighters arrived and had the fire out within minutes. About $75,000 damage was done to the industrial unit, but was contained to the pet grooming unit. It didn't take Walker long to offer the additional space at Doggie Dip & Clip and just days after the fire, Royal Treatment was temporarily back in business. Fairweather who has been in business in Oakville for about 20 years, and has operated at numerous location, has about 2,000 clients. Fairweather, who attended the former Queen Elizabeth Park Secondary School, still makes her home in the west end. She began her business in 1988 on Kerr Street.
