The event will be held at the Le Dome Banquet Hall. The elegant night out promises fine food, beverages, and a live band. Browse through the auction tables and sip champagne. At the gala there will be door prizes and a live and silent auction. Tickets cost $100 and include wine and dinner and a complementary gift. Over the years, special guests have included Ken Dryden, Vince McMann, Sheldon Kennedy, Donovan Bailey, Dan Ferrone, Tom Fergus, Larry Cain and Paul Henderson. This year Fantino is guest speaker. Fantino has received the Order of Merit of the Police Forces. Born in 1942 in Vendoglio, Italy, Fantino was previously Toronto's Chief of Police from 2000 to 2005 and Ontario's Commissioner of Emergency Management from 2005 until 2006. He was previously chief of police of London, Ontario from 1991 to 1998 and of York Region from 1998 until 2000. Previous to his London appointment, Fantino had been a Toronto police officer since 1969. Fantino was born in Italy and immigrated to Canada with his family when he was 11 years old. In 2003, he was awarded the Order of Ontario. On April 14, 2005 he was presented the Key to the City of Toronto by Mayor David Miller.
