The Raiders recently won their third medal in as many tournaments this season, claiming silver at the Hamilton Wildcats competition. The Raiders won their first two games to reach the final, where they were successful in breaking Scarborough's press early on but were unable to capitalize on their fast-break opportunities, dropping a 48-36 decision. Oakville trailed 27-17 at the half but narrowed the gap to 35-30 late in the fourth, before being forced to foul down the stretch. Daman Madesha had 14 points and Tomas Rickus netted seven. Earlier in the tournament, the Raiders defeated Blessed Sacrament 47-37 and routed St. Catharines CYO 33-18. Madesha scored 19 points and Brian Hughes poured in 15 against Blessed Sacrament, a game the Raiders trailed by four points at halftime. The win over St. Catharines avenged a fourpoint loss to CYO earlier in the year, with Evan Formosa leading Oakville's balanced scoring attack with eight points. Other members of the Raiders, whose next tournament is slated for Feb. 9-10 in Cambridge, are Graeme McIsaac, Brendan Meagher, Thomas Meagher, Andrew Chown, Arash Ahmadian and Ben Szpakowski.
