Free musical entertainment for all ages and free in-line skating at Oakville Arena for the whole afternoon will also be featured. Children will also be able to visit KidZone to take part in craft making and musical activities. The YMCA of Oakville Day Camp and the Manchester United Soccer School will also be run- ning events throughout the afternoon. Refreshments, free cake, pizza, hot dogs and sausages will be provided as well as other foods which will be available for purchase. Kerr Village's own John Marlatt, co-owner of The Moonshine Café, will entertain along with headliners Aaron Griggs and Mark Bird Stafford. Children are being encouraged to participate in a special colouring contest for which colouring sheets can be downloaded from www.kerrvillagebia.ca. In Bronte, the party will be in Heritage Park and along Lower Bronte Road from 11 to 5 p.m. and will be a salute to Bronte's beginning as a fishing village with lots of interactive activities for young and old alike. Try knots n' ropes tying, sample seafaring cuisine from local eateries and stroll the lakeside boardwalk and listen to the music that will include seafaring tunes and Celtic music. Also, the exhibit Bronte Through Artists' Eyes will open as the first show in this season's Art on the Bluffs series sponsored by the Bronte Historical Society at the Sovereign House with photos and stories of Bronte's more than 150 year- history. The centrepiece is an internationally-acclaimed example of marlinspike knot work done by Captain Les Pickard, a mariner born in Bronte. Sovereign House opens on Sunday at 1 p.m. and is located at 7 West River St The parking lot is just at the top of the hill. There is no admission, but donations are appreciated. Other 150th anniversary celebrations elsewhere on the calendar this year will include The 150th-themed Oakville Waterfront Festival, June 22-24, and the Heritage Hustle on Oct. 14, -- a 5km run/walk and 1.5km family fun walk through the three downtown heritage districts to benefit the R.E.A.C.H. 150th Legacy Fund through The Community Foundation of Oakville (CFO).
