"I make sure their business' name and logo are protected and that they are doing their research to make sure their logo is not too similar to someone else's," he said. Foster notes it is important for the students to have the mentors as a resource as their experience can save the students many potential business pitfalls. "My background has always been business, ever since I started out, and I've run this business for 25 years. We may not have all the answers but we certainly feel we can help people who are starting to develop their business." Several students noted following their mentor's advice has led to smoother operations. "They definitely helped us out with things like getting liability insurance," he said. With the program continuing through August, the businessrelated adventures of the students and mentors are far from over and yet already the students say the experience has been life altering. "I wanted to get some practical skills that were going to become really helpful to me in the future and I wanted to do something ,more productive than just working for somebody else in the summer," said Mike Zhang the 18-yearold Burlington resident/owner and operator of Lawn Sharks.
