Keep your eye out for another great performance by the enthusiastic White Oaks Secondary School Marching Band; Oakville's first and only school marching band. The band made its successful debut in the 2005 Parade and is becoming a Parade tradition under the direction of music teacher Mr. Gassi. Parade watchers are in for a treat this year as the Rochester Hit Men Brass Band make their Oakville debut all the way from New York State. The Hit Men were founded in 2002 by World Drum Corps and Buglers Hall of Fame member David Martin. The band is made up of nine talented and professional musicians from the Western New York area. The Hit Men are the cur- rent four-time World Drum Corps Brass Ensemble Champions. Rounding out the Parade lineup this year is the bright, colourful and multi-talented Phillipine Heritage Marching Band. This award-winning band founded in 1980 features performers of all ages and is a delight to watch and to listen to. Now in its 59th year, the Oakville Santa Claus Parade is a cherished tradition in our Town.
