www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Friday November 23, 2007 - 53 Minor midget Rangers down Thunder Jeff Pinto scored a pair of goals to lead the Oakville minor midget AAA Rangers to a 4-2 win over the Niagara Falls Thunder in South Central Triple A Hockey League play. Brandon Alderson and Tyler Shiplo had the other Rangers goals as Oakville improved to 9-3-1 on the season. The win was especially satisfying as the Thunder had handed Oakville two of its three losses. Ryan DiBattista, Peter Copeland, Elliot Cheeseman, Scotty Wilson and Jacob Liptok drew assists. Wilson scored with just over three minutes to play to give Oakville a 3-2 road victory over Hamilton. Copeland and Braeden Corbeth also scored and Alderson had a pair of assists. Sean Kohler and Matthew Kim also scored in the final for the Rangers, who won five straight games to take the title. Oakville also needed some late-game heroics in the semifinal as Nick Serniuck and Jack Jeffers scored in the final two minutes to give the Rangers a 2-1 win over Windsor. The Rangers opened the round robin with a 21 victory over York then got back-to-back shutouts from Bradley Bezemer in a 4-0 win over Tecumseh and Ben Blacker in a 2-0 victory over Perinton.
